Hand Spinning Yarn & Hand Weaving

I have been spinning yarn by hand for a decade at least.  I use both drop spindles (ancient technology for spinning yarn and thread) and various spinning wheels to produce yarn.  I have done every step of the process short of sheering the sheep. I find spinning and weaving to be a form of moving meditation.

I learned to weave in collage and still enjoy it.  Most of the work I have made has been for living history, usually the middle ages.  I work in wool, silk, linen, and cotton but occasionally move into modern materials such as clear tubing.  My favorite remains working with the hand spun wool I have made.
